A park has been cordoned off by police after a teenager reported he had been sexually assaulted.
The Metropolitan Police says the alleged assault took place in Coppermill Park in Coppermill Lane, Walthamstow yesterday (Thursday November 25).
According to a neighbour, police have been guarding the park all day.
Police say officers are supporting a teenage boy who made the report.
A 44-year-old man has been arrested, police said, and he remains in custody at an east London police station.
The Met added enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing.
