Rotarians from Chingford have been playing their part to try and give children a happier Christmas.
Members of Chingford Rotary Club have been busy supporting the Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child Appeal by filling shoe boxes again this year with toys, scarves hats and toiletries.
These boxes have been delivered by club President Alan Glanville to the local collection point for the charity at the South Chingford Congregational Church.
The club was pleased to receive a “thank you” certificate from the organisation in recognition of its efforts.
Club members attended the Remembrance Sunday parade and service at the Chingford War Memorial on Sunday, November 14.
The club President laid a wreath on behalf of the Rotary Club.
Members are now busy preparing to assist Farther Christmas when he visits South Chingford on Saturday afternoon to help the Friends of South Chingford turn on the Christmas tree lights.
They also plan to be out in local shopping areas over the Christmas period collecting for local charities.
