A stark view of The Ridgeway towards the Edlebury Road junction in 1929.
Connecting north & south Chingford, this road was once called the High Street with little more than a scattering of cottages and farms along its route.
By the late 1930s, the farm land had been swept away in favour of housing developments like many of the suburbs of London.
