A new police station was built for the Chingford Police on Kings Head Hill in 1887.
At that time, some constables would have been mounted on horses and stables for the horses were provided at the rear of the station.
On the right, the officer on the right can be seen with a ceremonial police sabre.
The current police station was built in 1977.
