Loughton Baptist Church seen here c1910 was first opened in 1813.
It was later developed with a classical façade and lodge.
The church was demolished in 1972 to make way for the modern church building which can be seen today but does have a stone laid in 1860 by Sir Samuel Morton Peto, a notable civil engineer and Baptist.
