WEST Essex suffered a second straight defeat after going down by 94-runs at Benfleet.
The hosts opened the batting and made an excellent 268-3, with Andy Jenkins top-scoring with a brilliant 107, while Phil Wright added an unbeaten 80 as Benfleet posted their inposing total from 50 overs.
The Rolls Park Boys then found themselves all back in the pavilion for 174 as Benfleet’s bowlers and fielders combined well on a good wicket, with only the returning Gareth Jenkins (78) offering any kind of resistance.
Ryan Prior took 4-39, Gareth Steed 3-65 and Dave Miles 2-34 doing the damage.
