HUMAN bones have been buried under allotments in Walthamstow, prompting a police investigation.

An adult skull, was found on August 24 at about 4.05pm.

And now, more bones have been discovered at Low Hall Farm Allotments, in Bridge Road, which has been partially sealed off by police officers.

A Scotland Yard spokesman said: "The location is still being treated as a crime scene and we are recovering more bones. They appear to be from a single human body."

Regarding the original find, he said: "At first people thought the skull belonged to a child, but it has wisdom teeth.

"The skull is being taken away for forensic examination, and at the moment this is being treated as an unexplained death."

Carbon dating and other tests to determine how old the adult was at the time of his or her death, and how long the bones were buried for, can take up to six weeks, said the spokesman.
