AN information evening is to be held for Redbridge residents interested in fostering.
Those who have spare rooms and would like to offer a home to a child can attend the meeting to find out more on April 1.
Applicants can be male or female and do not have to be married or have children of their own.
In Redbridge, there is currently a need for foster carers for siblings to avoid separation and for teenagers, the local authority has said.
The next information session will be held at the Station Road Centre, Station Road, Barkingside from 7pm.
Social workers and other foster carers will be on hand to answer questions.
For those who decide they would like to go ahead, three-day or six-evening training sessions will be arranged.
Following approval, they will be given support from a supervising social worker, ongoing training and a weekly allowance to cover costs.
