IF there are other life forms in our universe, then most of them seem to want to live in Loughton.

The town has been dubbed the UFO capital of London and surrounding area with six sightings since 2002.

The information was released under the Freedom of Information Act with Loughton beating off competition from St John's Wood and Walthamstow, which each had three reported sightings.

Five of the six reports of UFOs in Loughton were last September, the same month as we reported "bright triangular orbs" in the skies above Loughton following several calls from readers.

Similar sightings were reported last March but were later found to have been Thai lanterns which had been released at the wedding of an Epping couple at Leez Priory, near Felsted.
