THE health service is looking for people to join its “polysystem community panels”.

More than 100 people have now signed up to the panels, which meet once a month with the leading GP for a specific area of the borough to discuss progress and proposals for the future such as the location of new polyclinics.

Each “polysystem” covers a geographical area of Redbridge and includes healthcare services such as GP surgeries and pharmacies.

The panels are aimed at offering patients a direct say in the way healthcare is administered in each area.

Almost all the panels are now full but members of the public are still being sought to represent Wanstead and Fairlop.

Conor Burke, borough managing director for NHS Redbridge, said: “We’re keen that residents are involved in this from the start and it’s important that they have their say about what they think needs improving.

“GPs will be overseeing clinical changes but that has to reflect the needs of the community.

“We know some residents want more of a say in what is happening and the panels provide that opportunity.”
