RESIDENTS are being encouraged to “blow the whistle” on benefit cheats.
In a campaign launched by the council, people are being told they can call in confidence to turn in fraudsters.
Under the slogan “For us to know, you must whistleblow”, posters have been put up around the borough calling for residents to help stop others from “cheating the council”.
The authority is asking for information on illegal activities including benefit and council tax fraud, corruption, subletting properties, and misuse of council monies.
People can call in with details on 0800 633 5267 or 8553 9033
