MORE than 50 volunteers took part in an annual Spring clean in Walthamstow Village.
On Saturday morning, volunteers of all ages joined the Walthamstow Village Residents' Assocation's eighth annual spring-clean.
Jobs tackled included gardening, painting street furniture and clearing graffiti, litter and fly-tipping.
WVRA spokeswoman, Helen Lerner, said: "It was marvellous that so many residents and friends came to work together to clean up the village. Although it was hard-work we had great fun and by mid-afternoon the village was spick and span."
Walthamstow Village won London in Bloom's Best Urban Community 2009 and is now a UK finalist in Royal Horticultural Society Britain in Bloom 2010.
