ABOUT 50 people took part in a kung fu and tai chi demonstration in Lloyd Park.
Friday's event, run by Shaolin Gongfu City, was part of a week of school holiday activities in the Forest Road park in Walthamstow.
Aileen Hamdan, a volunteer and tai chi coach of Shaolin Gongfu City, which has been running a free programme of classes in the borough, said: "It was a very good turn out. People dropped in and had a go and all really enjoyed it."
The club also presented £300 raised from donations to Waltham Forest Mayor Cllr Anna Mbachu, for the Mayor's charity, the Big Push Appeal for the maternity unit at Whipps Cross Hospital.
Ms Hamdan said following the success of the event, the club is trying to secure permission from the council to hold regular tai chi sessions in Lloyd Park.
The next free demonstration is on May 29, in Lloyd Park, as part of Adult Learning Day.
