FIREFIGHTERS are due to go on strike today after last minute talks broke down.
Members of the London Fire Brigade Union have called an eight-hour strike from 10am today (November 1).
The union had been meeting with fire brigade bosses yesterday in a last ditch attempt to avert the walk out but an agreement was not reached.
FBU regional official Paul Embery said fire brigade representatives had brought “nothing new” to the table.
London Fire Brigade has said it is “extremely disappointed” the strike will go ahead.
A 47-hour strike is still set to go ahead from Friday, November 5 - Bonfire night.
