THE former managing editor of the News of the World (NoW) was taken into police custody for a second time yesterday, according to Sky News.
It is believed that Stuart Kuttner, who lives in the High Road area of Woodford Green, was answering police bail after originally being arrested on August 2, when he was bailed until the end of the month.
Scotland Yard reported that a 71-year-old was released on bail until a date in September after being questioned at a London police station last night.
The national Guardian newspaper said that plain clothes police were seen searching Mr Kuttner’s home after the arrest at the beginning of the month.
A Met spokesman at the time confirmed that a man had been seized on suspicion of conspiring to intercept communications and on suspicion of corruption.
Mr Kuttner resigned from his post at the NoW in July 2009.
The 71-year-old man who was arrested is being referred to as Man I by the detectives of Operation Weeting, who are investigating phone hacking at the paper.
He is known as Suspect I to detectives investigating inappropriate payments to police in Operation Elveden.
