RELIGIONS and environmentalists are joining forces to promote awareness of how to protect the environment.

The Redbridge Faith Forum and Sukkat Shalom Synagogue will work with Redbridge Enterprise Plc and the Redbridge Recycling Team to provide an afternoon of activities dedicated to make people think about how they can be more environmentally friendly.

Learn how to make your own compost, plant seeds and take part in a treasure hunt at the Synagogue in Victory Road, Hermon Hill, Wanstead, on Sunday, October 16.

The Jewish Festival of Sukkot that focuses on travelling and living in temporary homes is being celebrated at the same time, and you can visit the synagogue’s Sukkah, a temporary shelter made of branches and leaves filled with harvest fruits, vegetables and other food.

Please call or email Saira Yakub on 020 8708 2478/2445 or saira.yakub@redbridge.gov.uk. The synangogue asks you to bring a vegetarian dish to share if possible, though refreshments are available.
