SCHOOLCHILDREN were invited to a local park to celebrate an award.
The pupils from Oakdale Junior School in South Woodford were in Elmhurst Gardens on Fosters Close to watch the unveiling of a flag awarded to the park.
Green Flag presents the award to open spaces which it deems to be among the best in the country.
After watching the flag being unveiled, the children had fun planting bulbs and helped create a meadow by scattering wildflower seeds.
The event was organised by volunteer group, The Friends of Elmhurst Gardens.
The park is one of five open spaces in Redbridge to be awarded a green flag this year.
