A PUBLIC meeting is to be held to discuss the future of the Walthamstow Stadium.
Organised by Waltham Forest Council, the event takes place on Monday (January 23).
Owner London & Quadrant, which bought the stadium in 2008, has submitted revised to build a housing estate in the Chingford Road.
But campaigners insist the housing association should sell the site to businessman Bob Morton, who has devised an alternative plan which incorporates a dog track.
Chingford MP Iain Duncan Smith, who has expressed concern over L&Q’s handling of the site, is due to attend, along with a number of councillors.
L&Q insists its plans have widespread support and will provide 300 much needed flats and houses for the area.
The meeting is between 7pm and 9pm at Rush Croft Sports College in Rushcroft Road, Chingford.
