THE son of a pensioner who went missing from her home on Tuesday night has made an emotional plea for his mum to come home.

Nancy Ryan, left Gaynes Hill Road in Woodford Bridge at around 9pm on August 7.

Her 77-year-old husband Michael thought she was going to visit a friend, but she has not returned home.

Nancy’s 43-year-old son, Michael who lives on Chelmsford Road, South Woodford, said the whole family were sick with worry about the grandmother of seven.

He added: “She’s never done anything like this before.

“We have been looking everywhere for her up and down river banks, in parks, everywhere.

“Our neighbours have been handing out leaflets and the police have had the helicopter out searching.

“We are just sick with worry.

“It’s like one of those things you see on TV, you can’t believe it’s happening to you.

“You don’t hear of people bundling 70-year-old women into a car but all sorts of things go through your mind.

“We are scared she has fallen down somewhere, because she’s not great on her feet.

“I can’t bear to think that she is injured somewhere.”

Mr Ryan said that his mother was taking blood pressure tablets as well as medication for back and hip pain.

“My wife took her to the doctor on the morning she disappeared,” he said.

“We were worried about her because she was not sleeping because her back was so bad.

“The doctor gave her some new sleeping tablets and we are all worried that she might have had a bad reaction.

“I spoke to her in the evening and she was not herself because she had not been sleeping properly.

“She’s not the sort to disappear. All she thinks about is us.

“My dad is in a terrible state all we are doing is sitting next to the phone waiting for news.

“We just  keep hoping a cab will pull up and she will get out of it.

"We are supposed to be going on holiday on Saturday, but of course we have cancelled it.

“If she reads this I would just like to say ‘come home mum, we are all missing you.’”

Nancy is 5’ 5” tall with a stocky build and bobbed blonde hair.

She was last seen wearing a loose brown cardigan, a floral blouse and dark trousers.

Anyone who has seen her or knows her whereabouts is asked to call Ilford CID on 020 8345 2733.
