Only one Covid sufferer in the whole of east London died last week as the country begins to gradually reopen.
One death, on April 7, was recorded in Redbridge, while all other east London boroughs have not seen a single death within 28 days of a positive test since March.
It has been almost a month since the last Covid-related death in Havering on March 16 and almost two weeks since the most recent in Waltham Forest, recorded on March 30.
Yesterday (April 11), only six new people tested positive for the virus in Waltham Forest, another six in Redbridge and no one in Havering.
Today, the country entered the second step of its journey out of lockdown, allowing non-essential retail, public buildings and outdoor attractions to reopen.
Venues like pubs are also allowed to serve people outside, with no curfew, provided customers order from their table.
The next step, which will take place no sooner than May 17, will see gatherings of up to 30 allowed outdoors and two households or up to six people allowed to mix indoors.
