Supermarket giant Tesco is giving away £700 vouchers to lucky shoppers in celebration of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.

Tesco has launched the Jubilee Card competition in search for 70 community heroes from across the UK who will each win a £700 shopping voucher.

The store is calling on the nation to nominate community heroes who have been ‘royally good’ via its social channels.

This comes as research reveals only a quarter of the nation feel they do enough to celebrate the everyday heroes in their life.

The limited-edition card will give 70 crowned winners £700 to spend in-store or online. To launch, Tesco surprised 19-year-old Sebbie Hall from Lichfield with the first ever Tesco Jubilee Card, delivered by a specially appointed Tesco ‘delivery corgi’, to thank him for his ‘royally good’ deeds for his local community.

During lockdown, Sebbie, a Pride of Britain nominee who has learning and physical difficulties, set out to raise £1,000 by carrying out a hundred acts of kindness to strangers. Two years later, Sebbie’s work is ongoing, and he has now raised over £40,000 for charities that support young people with disabilities and those with learning needs.

Seventy more limited edition cards have been produced, with seven to be given away every day for the next 10 days.

Ashley Hall, Sebbie’s mother, said: "Sebbie started his acts of kindness because he wanted to make other people smile in lockdown, so it’s lovely for the roles to be reversed and to see him being celebrated.

"A huge thank you Tesco for making his day – he’s absolutely thrilled. He always puts others first, so we’re encouraging him to treat himself with this very special card."
