Josh Coulson’s return to fitness is a massive boost for Leyton Orient, according to head coach Justin Edinburgh.
The defender played an hour of Saturday’s 2-1 FA Trophy win over Haringey Borough as Orient advanced to the second round.
He had been out since the end of September, and Edinburgh believes his return can only be a plus for the Brisbane Road outfit.
“It is massive to have him back and I think that showed in the 60 minutes he was on the pitch for. he came through that with no problems,” Edinburgh said.
“That is a big boost for us and we have Jake Caprice coming back from suspension as well. Slowly but surely we are getting senior players back and competition for places is increasing.”
The O’s are likely to be bolstered further in defence after the turn of the new year, with George Elokobi - absent for over three months - recovering well.
Edinburgh said: “ George is coming along nicely and is a couple of weeks behind Josh.
“I think come early January he will be back in contention and playing again.”
