Watford have reportedly completed a deal to sign teenage striker Joao Pedro from Fluminense.

The transfer would see Pedro, who turns 17 later this month, make the switch to Vicarage Road in the summer of 2020 for an undisclosed fee, and is likely to include a number of performance related bonuses.

With clubs only allowed to sell players once they have reached the age of 18, the Hornets are willing to wait two years to complete the signing.

Watford, of course, have recent history with Brazilian outfit Fluminense after signing Richarlison from the club in the summer of 2017.

Fluminense president Pedro Abad travelled to London to formalise the sale of Pedro, who has been highly impressive in youth football.

He found the net 25 times in the 2018 season, which represented his best return of goals for Fluminense’s Under-17 set up – a return which made Pedro the top scorer for his age group.

The talented forward has been training with the senior set up at Fluminense and could be given the chance to leapfrog the under-20 set up and progress straight to the first-team.
