Isaac Success won his second international cap but it was the former Watford striker he replaced who stole the headlines as Nigeria eased to a 4-0 victory over Libya in their Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
The 22-year-old, whose only previous senior appearance came in March 2017 against Senegal, was rewarded for his impressive start to the season with a recall to the squad for the qualifying double header.
He entered the fray in the 76th minute for Odion Ighalo after the former Hornets striker, who now plays in China for Changchun Yatai, had added to a fourth-minute penalty with goals in the 58th and 69th minutes to complete his first international hat-trick.
The victory was then completed by Samuel Kalu’s last-minute goal.
The reverse fixture takes place on Tuesday.
