Bushey Sports Club are now the team to catch in the Herts Senior County League Premier Division after Saturday’s 5-0 win at Broadfields took them two points clear at the summit.

Bilal Butt led the way with a brace for the victorious visitors, who also had Vincent Rispoli, Excellence Muhemba and Eric Sowonola on target in the win.

Bushey were given a helping hand in going clear at the top after former leaders New Salamis had to settle for a 2-2 draw at Chipperfield Corinthians, who secured a point thanks to goals from Daniel Lewis and Paul Branson.

Division One leaders Oxhey Jets Reserves’ focus switched to the Herts Intermediate Cup on Saturday and they comfortably progressed through to the quarter-finals thanks to a 5-1 victory over Berkhamsted Reserves.

Andre Lopes netted twice for the triumphant hosts who were 4-1 up at the break, with Albie Booth, Tom Kaill and Luke Peters also finding the back of the net.

Bovingdon Reserves only led 2-1 at the break, but they pulled away in the second half to end Sawbridgeworth Town Reserves’ cup hopes in a 5-2 victory.

The goals were shared around with Haydn Cassidy, Thomas Clilverd, Josh Connolly, George Loosely and Alex Marsh all scoring one apiece.

There was disappointment for Aldenham in league action as they lost 3-0 at Rayners Lane Reserves.
