Ruel Sotiriou was on target for Leyton Orient as they drew 1-1 with Tottenham Hotspur in a pre-season friendly.

After frustrating West Ham United in a 0-0 draw last Tuesday, the O's followed up with another draw against Premier League opposition, with Spurs this time unable to get the better of Kenny Jackett's side.

Dane Scarlett opened the scoring for the visitors at Brisbane Road in the first half, but Sotiriou's first strike for the club cancelled it out with just over quarter-of-an-hour remaining in the match.

England internationals Dele Alli and Eric Dier were in a strong Tottenham side, that also included Brazilian international Lucas Moura, Steven Bergwijn, Harry Winks and former England number one Joe Hart.

Nevertheless they were not able to make the quality count and were held to a draw by the O's.

After the match, Jackett said he was feeling positive about what he had seen from his side during pre-season.

"It's been a good week for us," he said in a club interview.

"First off we appreciate Spurs bringing the side for today and they brought a very strong side over as well, so we appreciate that.

"After that we're looking at our own build up to our season and it's been a positive week.

"The players have shown some cohesion, both in and out of possession, we have some spirit. Today, we probably create a few more chances today, and Ruel Sotiriou I thought got an excellent goal with his left foot, it's a very, very good goal.

"We probably created more chances than we did on Tuesday but you've got to factor in the standard of the opposition as well and the fact that they're slightly different games from the games that we're going to play.

But as we build up towards our standard at League Two, I've been pleased with this week - it's been a good working week."
