IT was another solid performance at Brighton where we dominated but just couldn’t come up with a goal.

Of course after the two heavy defeats at Ipswich and Peterborough it was good that we've kept cleansheets now against Carlisle and Brighton.

I feel both of them will be up there this season and we contained them.

The frustrating things is that while they are two excellent results, we only pick up two points and sometimes you don’t think you come away with the right rewards.

That was certainly the case on Saturday, because we even managed to drop down the table.

Hopefully now we can go to Walsall and get a win that would probably move us right back into contention.

They’ve had a decent start and I’m sure Jabo will be out to get a goal against us, but if we can keep it tight at the back again I’m sure we can get a goal.

I’m always confident that we’ve got goals in this team, and we showed that at Southend on Tuesday night.

I know it is a competition that sometimes fails to attract supporters, but there was a decent crowd at Roots Hall and it was certainly nice for us to get the win against our old rivals.

Finally me a Boydy went to the Old Firm Derby on Sunday and while it was a great game especially as Rangers won, it was probably the longest day of our lives.

I was wondering if my mate Dave, who organised the trip, had been getting tips of Smudge following our marathon journey to Belgium this summer.

Not only did we set off at the crack of dawn, our flight home didn’t take off until 9.30pm despite the game having kicked off at 12.30pm!
