Waltham Forest manager Olawale Ojelabi says he is proud to be a part of the “biggest game the club have played in” as he prepares his side for their FA Cup second qualifying round fixture at home to Eastbourne Borough.

Forest earned the tie with the Sports after overcoming landlords Ilford in a replay in the last round and Ojelabi can’t wait to get back to cup action.

“Everyone is looking forward to it. It is a dream and who knows what is going to happen after that. We will just enjoy it,” explained the manager.

“It is the biggest game the club have played in and I am proud to be a part of that.”

The manager said he is a believer in the magic of the FA Cup and although he emphasised that his squad would “take each game as it comes,” Ojelabi is dreaming of bigger days to come.

“I am dreaming of going to Old Trafford,” said the boss.

“It is a massive game for us. The players are excited as well.”

He added: “We should be alright. Nothing is impossible. It will be a good game and I am looking forward to the game. Eastbourne are a good side.”

The match will kick off at 3pm on Sunday as Ilford have a home game on the Saturday.

Forest enjoyed the best possible preparation for the tie, continuing their fine start the season last night by moving up to second in the Ryman Division One North table following a 3-1 victory over Chatham Town.

The result now means that Ojelabi’s side have won as many games in just eight matches as they did in the entire previous campaign.

It was a slow start from Forest however and they were punished after just six minutes with the returning Josh Green slicing into his own net as he tried to clear an Adam Marsh cross.

It was a poor first half from Ojelabi’s side, summed up when Jeff Hammond had to limp off, replaced by Richard Shittu.

Forest looked a different team after the break however and levelled straight away when Gazmend Dauti headed into the top corner from an Elton Sackey cross.

The home side had the lead just past the hour with a similar goal to one they had scored at the weekend.

A long goal kick was allowed to bounce over the defence, gifting Joel Palmer the chance to strike a fierce volley home as the hosts took control.

Both sides had penalties turned down as the game headed for a conclusion but it wasn’t until the sixth minute of injury time that Forest made sure of their victory.

A defensive clearance was helped on by Shittu to Billy Healey who fired in from the edge of the box to seal the points.
