Dagenham & Redbridge boss John Still admitted while he was disappointed with his side’s 1-0 defeat to Shrewsbury Town, he was pleased with the Daggers performance.

A 38th minute header from James Collins settled the contest and victory for the Shrews ensured their promotion to League One.

The result ended the Daggers’ eight match unbeaten run but Still believed his side showed a good account of themselves and congratulated Shrewsbury on their success.

"It was a disappointing result but the performance was good.

"I thought we pushed them all the way and Chris Lewington, our keeper, wasn't really flying around his goal.

"For what Shrewsbury were playing for, they might have been a bit edgy and I thought we started well. They scored their goal without us being under any pressure but late in the game we pushed them right back and I thought we put in a good performance against a very good team."

He continued: "I'm delighted for Shrewsbury. They're a proper football club, proper people on the management side and they've gone up by right. The table doesn't lie and they've deserved to go up and I congratulate them on a fantastic season."
