Leyton Orient owner Barry Hearn insists the club are not looking to sign anyone before tonight's transfer window shuts.

The O's chairman has seen his side set a new club record of five consecutive League One wins which has put them top of the table. But despite having a small squad, Hearn believes there is no point bringing anyone in at this stage of the season.

Hearn said: "We're not looking to bring in anybody. We're going to obey the 60 per cent wage rule as we always said we would do and now our job behind the scenes is to work our proverbials off up until Christmas.

"Russell Slade's job is to keep this winning mentality up until Christmas and our job is to raise enough money where 60 per cent of that can be added to his budget for the run-in. We've got a plan, we need a bit of luck of course with such a small squad with injuries and stuff like that.

"But when you're winning matches like that the injuries don't seem to last as long as when you're losing. The players want to play so at the moment the spirit is unbelievable and I think we've got a squad that if you brought someone in you couldn't find him a spot in the team.

"There's no point bringing someone in at the moment. We will need some fresh legs and new faces mid-season but we will come to that when the next window comes up."

However Orient boss Slade has made no secret of his wish to sign another player to bolster the squad.

Slade said: "I don't know at this stage. It would be nice to do a little bit of something but we'll have to wait and see."
