Justin Edinburgh says he is prepared for a “tough game” when he takes his Leyton Orient side to Barnet tomorrow in the National League.

Barnet’s lowly position in the table is not indicative of their recent form, with the Bees currently unbeaten in five and having kept four consecutive clean sheets, and Edinburgh knows his team will have to be at the level they have been in recent matches if they are to extend their own winning run to nine games.

After Tuesday’s win over AFC Fylde, he said: “It’s going to be a tough game as they are in good form, they’ve got a lot of good players so it’s another tough one and we’ll have to be at our best again.

“There’s always a possibility of fatigue but I don’t really envisage it at the moment. We’ve played no more games, really, at this present time, than anyone else.

“I think when you’re a player and you’re playing well it doesn’t really come into account. I don’t think it’ll be a problem.”

With a busy few weeks behind them but no respite coming up in the final push in the National League, Edinburgh would be forgiven for rotating the squad in order to keep it fresh, and he admits that it’s something that has been on his mind prior to the game, especially given the injury problems at right-wingback.

He said: “I think we possibly will [rotate the squad] but I’ll always go off my own players and I’ve got to trust them, and I trust them to tell me if they’re fine. If I feel they should play then they will.

“Alex [Lawless] could fill in, Craig Clay can do it, [James] Brophy has shown tonight that he can do it and Sam Ling is only about a week away as well so it’s not a concern really.

“Jay [Simpson] is back now as well and I’m absolutely delighted to have a player of that calibre and class sitting on our bench and ready to go.”
