Leyton Orient striker James Alabi remains on the transfer list, according to interim head coach Ross Embleton.

Alabi produced a positive performance in Orient’s friendly against Harlow Town at the weekend, hitting the woodwork twice and scoring the final goal in the 5-0 success.

The forward was the only player to be listed for transfer when the O’s issued their released and retained list back in May.

After the Harlow match, Embleton said: “We’ll have conversations with James over the next little while and talk about the direction that he and the club are going to go in.

“James deserves a massive amount of credit. He was probably the one that got a little bit missed last year in terms of Alex Lawless, Matty Harrold, Charlie Lee, about how well they did things when they weren’t in the team and sometimes that was forgotten because James Alabi really endeared himself in the group and really made his mark.

“We were delighted with the way he went about his business even when he found himself out of the team. He’s come back with probably an even better attitude. The conversations I’ve had with him have been about how he proves everybody wrong, shows what strengths he’s got. He’s got different strengths to Conor [Wilkinson] and Ruel [Sotiriou] and Lee [Angol]. That doesn’t mean he’s not an asset to us.”
