A former Leyton Orient player has been nominated to be inducted into the Scotland Football Hall of Fame.

Dave Halliday, who played for the club when they were known as Clapton Orient, was also nominated in 2017 and 2018 but was overlooked on both occasions.

Orient were Halliday’s fifth club having previously represented Aberdeen, Arsenal, Dundee and Leicester City, and following his spell with the club he went on to play for Manchester City, Queen of the South, St Mirren, Sunderland and Yeovil Town (then called Yeovil and Petters United).

During his time with Orient, he was the top scorers in the league during his first season with 19 goals in 21 games, despite arriving in December, and he repeated that feat in the next season with 17 from 34.
