Three of Leyton Orient’s injured personnel are edging closer to a return, according to head coach Ross Embleton.

While this weekend’s League Two encounter against Cambridge United is likely to come too soon, Jamie Turley, Sam Ling and Jobi McAnuff have all stepped up their recoveries from their respective setbacks.

Ling was even due to play minutes in the Central League Cup match against MK Dons on Tuesday before it was postponed, signalling just how close a return to the first team could be for the defender.

On their injuries, Embleton said: “I think Jamie Turley, for sure, it will be too soon for. Sam Ling has trained a lot. We had a reserve game planned for today but it got called off by the opposition early this week so that’s frustrating because Sam would have got minutes in that. He’s getting very close.

“As I’ve maintained all the way through the season with Jobi, it’s about continuing to push him and seeing how close he can get. [I’m not sure] whether it’s this weekend but he’s certainly getting very close to making a return.”
