Essex rising star Max Kashket’s bid to become Kickboxing world champion was given a boost after he claimed a trio of medals at the Junior World Cup in Birmingham.

The 14-year-old from Waltham Abbey claimed one gold and two silver medals at the tournament at the weekend, as he ramped up his attempts to become world champion in September.

Kashket, who is currently looking for a sponsor, has represented Team GB and trains at Enfield Kickboxing Academy.

Last weekend’s result caps off a hugely successful 18 months for the Davenant Foundation School pupil, who is currently the British champion at his age group, and he has also enjoyed success at the French Open, Hungarian World Cup as well as the Junior Euro Cup among others during that time frame.

Kashket doesn’t intend to take his foot off the gas if he becomes world champion, either, with the 14-year-old harbouring hopes of competing in UFC and at the Olympics in the coming years.
