Philip Bowes will defend his Commonwealth super-lightweight title against Tom Farrell on Saturday, March 30 in Liverpool.

The bout will take place at the M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool’s Albert Dock in Farrell’s first attempt at a Commonwealth title.

‘Quicksilver’ landed the accolade in his fourth attempt at a title by beating Benson Nyilawila at York Hall in Bethnal Green earlier this month.

He beat the Tanzanian by technical knock-out in just the second round on February 2 having gone into the meeting with wins in nine of his 10 previous bouts, the only blemish being against Glenn Foot for the English championship in May 2017.

Bowes’ March opponent, Farrell, has a 16-1 record going into a six-round warm-up fight on February 23 at the Devonshire House Hotel, with five of his wins and his singular defeat coming via knock-out.

Bowes, meanwhile, with nothing currently scheduled until he meets Farrell, is set to enter the bout with a 19-3 record, with three of his wins and one of his losses coming by knock-out.

The fight forms part of the undercard at the Liam Smith v Sam Eggington fight, which is exclusively live on Sky Sports.
