Former world heavyweight champion Shannon Briggs was a guest at Waltham Abbey Amateur Boxing Club (ABC) last week when he joined a training session.
Briggs, 47, who has recently announced his intention to come out of retirement, turned up with both of his belts on show at the Highams Park-based club.
The former lineal and WBO title holder joined the session less than a week after the club secured two national champions of their own in Keith Witter and Ben Taylor.
Head coach Chris Baker said: “It was a fantastic honour to have a world champion come through the door and inspire our youngsters.
“One of our coaches, Irfan Sheikh, set it up and the gym was buzzing, especially as Shannon brought down his belts.
“This sort of thing doesn’t happen every week and I would just like to say a big thank you to Shannon for taking the time to visit us.”
