Linkside Tennis Club in Wanstead held their annual Junior Finals Day after moving the event from autumn to summer.

A variety of formats, such as smaller courts, soft balls, playing for points, and shorter sets, were used in the games depending on age group, which ranged from eight and under all the way up to 16 and under.

Three concurrent matches kicked off the day, with Jake Singh beating Marlon Day 10-4, 12-10 in the Boys 8 and Under and Luca Lloyd-Brissenden overcoming Daniel Niewczasinski-Kirkland 3-10, 10-7, 11-9 in the Boys 9 and Under, while Joe Quinn toppled reigning champion Gabriel Murray in the Boys 16 and Under, winning 4-6, 6-1, 7-5 in a match that lasted almost three hours.

Niewczasinski-Kirkland then beat Lloyd-Brissenden 4-1, 4-3 to win the Boys 10 and Under tournament, denying the latter a second title of the day.

Oliver Tredgett won the Boys 14 and Under final by beating Dominic Marsh 6-0 while Iris Lloyd-Brissenden matched younger brother Luca’s success to win the Girls 12 and Under final, beating Sophie Durcan 6-0.

The final match of the day saw David North claim victory in the Boys 12 and Under event, beating William Robinson 6-3.
