East London Runners’ Helen McGuiness was second in the F45-55 category at the Mao five-mile race on Sunday in Menorca, Spain.

The hilly course was made more difficult by the high temperatures, but McGuiness managed to complete the race with an official time of 48.34, while her chip time was 48.28.

Back on home soil, the club had representatives at the Great Bristol Half Marathon also on Sunday, with Nicola Hedges coming in with the best time of 2:27.57.

Maya Goodwin followed behind in 6123rd place and a time of 2:38.23, while less than a minute later Anna Dingle crossed in 2:39.11 and a place of 6152nd.

Emma Hammerston was the final East London runner across, finishing with a time of 2:41.20 and earning 6227th place.

At the Richmond Half Marathon, Jess Trayler-Moore finished 2367th with a time of 2:21.03, while in the full marathon, Paul Clarke recorded a time of 4:27.46 and 596th place, while Narelle McClorey completed it in a time of 6.05.24.

Paula Bedford was the club’s sole representative at the Harvest Trail in Royston, finishing 54th out of 126 (the seventh lady) and crossing the line in a time of 1:58.43.

Saturday saw Fabrizio Stefanoni complete the Season Finale Sprint Triathlon at Dorney Lake, Eton, finishing in an overall place of 28th out of 105 finishers in a total time of 1:20.32, while closer to home, James Nichols recorded a time of 39.55 at the Essex XC 10km series at Weald Country Park.

Finally, the club had five members at the Pleshey & Essex Half Marathon. Mark Boulton was the first to cross, finishing 13th overall in a time of 1:16.02.

Patrick Brown was then just a place behind with 1:16.1 before a lengthy gap then saw James Creed cross in 1:43.35, Natasha Howard in 2:04.52 (273rd) and finally, Daniel Peters in a time of 2:10.57 (307th).
