A host of East London Runners members made the trip to the Loire Valley in central France for two events on Sunday.

Five members took part in the 20km event, while there was one participant in the 10km run.

Daniel Lee was the first ELR runner to cross the line in the 20km event as he finished 70th overall with a time of 1:23.22, and Ava Lee was just a couple of minutes behind with 1:25:49, enough to earn her 111th place.

Regis Martin crossed the line in 386th place with a time of 1:33.44 before a bit of a gap then saw Susannah McLaren and Sandra Hiller finish close together; the former with a time of 2:12.00 (2358th place) and the latter in 2:26.13 (2465th).

Sonia Cheadle was the sole runner in the 10km event, finishing in 5508th place in a time of 1:15.11.

Also the only representative in her race was Maud Hodson at the Llyn Alwen Trail (11.5km) near Betws y Coed in North Wales. She finished in 46th place with a time of 1:01.53

Karan Gadhia, like Hodson, was further afield than the local events around East London, securing a personal best time of 1:36.52 at the Scottish Half Marathon on Sunday, finishing 306th overall.

Down in Weymouth, ELR’s Danny Wong completed his first Half Ironman in an overall time of 7:13.57 and at the Great East Run in Ipswich, Flora Stewart-Sandeman finished 585th with a time of 1:50.03 while Christopher Kehoe came 2738th in 3:00.41.

Elsewhere, Nick Hoult secured 20th position at the Run Through Goodwood 20m in a time of 2:46.08, while Catriona Hoult came recorded a time of 3:24.54, earning 54th place.

Finally, there were four club representatives at the Children with Cancer UK Swim Serpentine Two Mile race. Catherine Brett came 1599th, followed by Jimmy Dale in 1716th, Shaun DeSena with a time of 1:23.42 and Fiona Day in 1:40.09 (2437th).
