Ozzy Adenji scored a late equaliser for Harlow Town to take their FA Trophy tie against Hanwell Town to a replay after a 1-1 draw on Saturday.

Gareth Chendlik gave Hanwell the lead with barely two minutes on the clock, but Adenji prodded the ball over the line from a corner to force a second fixture tomorrow night.

The game’s opening goal arrived early on after a series of chances created between Chendlik and Joel Jacob. It was Jacob who fed it through for Tayshan Hayden-Smith and he slipped the ball across the face of goal for Chendlik to tap in.

Harlow rarely looked like threatening in the opening period, but what little they could throw at the Hanwell goal was comfortably dealt with by Hugo Sobte.

The stopper was also equal to Matt Rush’s effort in the second half after he had raced through on goal.

Harlow’s equaliser came with 14 minutes remaining as Oliver Gnandi towered above everybody to meet a corner and, after a scramble, Adenji managed to prod the ball home.

That secured a replay for the Hawks which takes place tomorrow night at 7.45pm, while their next league encounter comes away at Ashford Town (Middlesex) this Saturday at 3.00pm.
