Linkside Tennis Club in Wanstead held their annual Veterans Tournament finals on Saturday 28th September.
After losing the second set to love, James Loton and Marco Pagano got the better of Peter Hems and Graham Lavender in a closely fought final set (6-2, 0-6, 7-5).
Rae Potter retained her veterans singles title in a tight match against Misa Corlett winning 7-5 and 6-4 after several breaks of serve on both sides.
The Gentleman’s singles saw Pagono in action again, this time against new veteran Marcus Brissenden. After losing the first set 2-6, Brissenden showed his quality by winning the next two sets 6-3 and 6-1.
Carole Durcan and Ophelia Soares were too strong for Angela Shea and Potter in the ladies’ doubles taking the title away from the 2018 holders 6-1 and 6-2.
The final match of the day saw Potter and Brissenden win the Veterans mixed doubles title together for the first time by beating the 2018 holders Shea and Pagono 6-2 and 6-4.
