Harlow Town eased past Essex & Border League Premier Division side Tiptree Heath 4-1 in the Tolleshunt D’Arcy Memorial Cup second round on Tuesday night.
Matt Rush hit a hat-trick for the hosts while Christian Adu Gyamfi tapped in a fourth late on.
The scoring was opened by Rush when his strike from the edge of the area had enough power to beat Paddy Hawkins in the Tiptree goal.
The visitors pulled level before the break, though, as Charlie Green’s free-kick curled brilliantly into the top corner beyond Josh Bexon.
Despite the setback, Harlow showed their quality in the second half as Rush scored two well-taken goals to secure his hat-trick, and Gyamfi rounded off the scoring with an easy finish to send the Hawks through.
Next up for Harlow is their Velocity Trophy tie away at Ware next Tuesday, kicking off at 7.45pm.
