A host of East London Runners members were among the 83 finishers at the Ilford AC 10m Cross Country event last week.

Andrew Baxter was the first club member to cross the line, finishing 16th overall and recording a time of 1:14.44.

Following directly behind in 17th was Peter Craik in a time of 1:14.48, while Karan Gadhia, Jacob Stevens and Paul Thompson were 18th, 19th and 20th with respective times of 1:15.28, 1:15.33 and 1:16.01.

Calvin Bobin and Andrew Jackson were next in 23rd and 24th, recording times of 1:16.33 and 1:16.39 while there was then a slight gap before Vinesh Kumar crossed in 1:23.25, finishing 36th.

James Creed and Sarah Burns followed shortly behind in 44th and 47th, with respective times of 1:27.46 and 1:28.31, while Clive Stephenson was 48th overall with a time of 1:29.53.

Maud Hodson finished 52nd overall in a time of 1:31.50, followed closely by Nathaniel Dye and Fiona Critchley in 53rd and 54th with a matching time of 1:31.58.

Stuart Hodson was next across for ELR in 60th, crossing in 1:34.07, while Janet Bywater (1:37.08) came 63rd, Catherine Brett (1:43.39) came 68th, Fiona Day (1:46.24) came 72nd and Caroline Moore (1:50.04) came 76th.

Elsewhere, Katherine Harris finished 172nd in a time of 50.22 at the Battersea Park 10km on Sunday, while Saturday saw plenty of ELR finishers at the Essex Cross Country Championships in Basildon.

Thomas Grimes topped the pile for ELR, finishing 64th overall in a time of 39.13.

He was followed by Peter Craik and James Nichols in 116th and 119th, timing 42.22 and 42.34 respectively, while Andrew Baxter followed behind in 135th (43.26) as did Karan Gadhia in 139th (43.55).

For the womens’ finishers, Jennifer Ansell was first for ELR, placing 15th overall and recording a time of 41.16.

Caroline Frith was next across for the club, finishing 48th in a time of 47.35 while Becky Evans followed shortly behind in 57th with a time of 49.03.

Next was Kasia Stachowiak who came 66th (51.46) and Maud Hodson in 68th (51.59), while they were followed by Catriona Hoult in 91st (56.35), Veronica Carrasco in 94th (57.49), Sandra Preston in 95th (57.54) and Catherine Brett in 97th (58.09).

Finally, Fiona Day came 106th in a time of 1:01.04, Lauren Stevenson was 111th (1:02.36) and Alexandra Rutishauser-Perera was 113th (1:02.43.
