CLIVE Allen saw his Tottenham reserves pull off a great comeback to beat West Brom 3-2 in their Barclays Reserve League South opener at Brisbane Road on Monday.
West Brom forward Roman Bednar gave the Baggies an early lead on three minutes with a low drive shot past Ben Alnwick.
The former Heart man doubled the advantage on the stroke of half time with a neat finish.
However, Allen's troops staged a remarkable comeback after the break.
That began on 49 minutes when young defender Dorian Dervite played a ball over the top of for Danny Hutchins, who cooly chipped Baggies keeper Ryan Allsopp.
Forwards Danny Rose and Andy Barcham combined well in the box on 70 minutes, with the latter's shot handled on the goal line by James Hancox.
The Baggies defender was given a straight red card before David Hutton stepped up to equalise from the spot for the north Londoners.
The Lilywhites left it late to grab all three points, when Kyle Fraser-Allen crossed for Barcham to volley home from eight yards with just five minutes left on the clock.
Spurs: Alnwick, Hughton, Berchiche (Smith, 64), Hutchins, Dervite, Rocha (Mtandari, 46), Fraser-Allen, Maghoma, Barcham, Rose, David Hutton. Subs: Button, Olsen, Townsend.
