SPURS defender Chris Gunter believes the club can be a success following the depature of sulking striker Dimitar Berbatov.

The Bulgarian ace finally completed his drawn out move to Manchester United, in an £30.75million deal on deadline day on Monday.

But while Tottenham fans will have been disappointed to see the second member of their prolific strike force from last season to move on, following the earlier sale of Robbie Keane to Liverpool, 19-year-old Gunter believes Juande Ramos' much-changed squad still have the potential to succeed.

"We will be able to cope without Dimitar and I don't think his move has affected the squad,” Gunter told the Sun.

"If anyone needed any proof of that it was Sunday's draw at Chelsea."
