WEST HAM manager Avram Grant and defender Tal Ben Haim could miss the team's trip to Stoke this weekend to observe a Jewish holy day.

Ben Haim is reported by the Sun to have pulled out of the match to observe the annual Yom Kippur, while boss Grant refused to deny that he would be absent from the game after the team's 3-1 defeat to Chelsea on Saturday.

The pair are set to take part in 25 hours of fasting and prayer to celebrate the day, while West Ham go in search of their first win of the season at the Britannia Stadium.
