A BUCKHUST Hill cricketer will tour South America with one of the world's oldest clubs.

Rohan Bhome of Buckhurst Hill Cricket Club has been selected for Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) as they depart for Brazil and Chile next week.

MCC will take on the Brazilian, Chilean and Peruvian national sides in the T20 format during the 15 day trip.

The squad arrive in the Chilean capital, Santiago, to play Prince of Wales Country Club, before fixtures against the national teams of both Chile and Peru.

They then fly to the Brazilian city city of Sao Paulo, where they will play Sao Paolo Cricket Club in two T20 matches, and the Brazil national team, before finishing in Rio de Janeiro.

MCC Head of Cricket, John Stephenson, said: “We have selected a squad that we believe will provide challenging opposition for the matches in Brazil and Chile, and we are hopeful that this tour will aid the development of cricket in both countries.

“The trip marks the beginning of an exciting schedule of MCC overseas tours this year with another group of Playing Members getting the chance to represent the Club.”

Many of the players on the tour will be of ECB Premier League standard, with a number of the party also having had experience at County and Minor County level.
