DETECTIVES investigating the murder Edmonton student Michael Alexander Jones have renewed appeals to help trace a missing BMW, linked to the case.

The blue three series BMW (318 saloon SE), with the registration N118 FLA has been missing since Saturday March 15 when it was picked up by a traffic camera in Harlesden, in Church Road at 1.33pm.

It is now believed the car may be being stored in the Wembley, Willdesden or Harlesden area and officers believe someone may be unaware of the car's significance to this case and is storing it unwittingly.

Detective chief inspector John Macdonald, who is leading the investigation, said: "It is vitally important that we trace this vehicle as soon as possible.

"We are aware that it could be stored off road and we urge any garage owners who have recently allowed someone to use their garage to check and see if this vehicle is there."

Michael, 18, was battered and stabbed to death at his home in Stanley Road, Edmonton Green on March 13.
