NEIGHBOURHOOD police teams are currently operating with staff shortages.

The four teams operating out of Woodford Police Station in High Road are looking for three new police community support officers and a constable to bring numbers up to the required level.

Speaking at a meeting of the Area 2 committee last night, Inspector Christopher Chandler said: "The positions will be filled, but I don't know when they will be filled. It is part of a wider recruitment campaign across London."

Inspector Chandler reassured residents and councillors there will be adequate police cover over the coming jubilee weekend.
